Life and Stuff

The law in most states is that when you are out walking your dog, you must confine your dog on a leash. If you are a responsible dog owner this law will not only benefit you and your dog but will benefit other people and their dogs. This law helps to keep insurance costs down as well as helping to insure that your dog does not harm anyone or anything while you are exercising your animal. There are many types and styles of dog collars as well as harness’s and flexi dog leashes, they can be made out of leather, nylon, metal or cotton. The type of leash that you decide upon is completely your choice.

If I won the lottery my life would not change very much.  I am 54 years old and have just about everything that I need.  However, the lives of those that I care about would change drastically.  I would make sure that my loved ones had what they needed to live comfortably.  I have 5 children and each of them struggle financially, I would love to be able to help them.  I see how they work so hard and times are so rough for them.  I would make sure that my grandchildren all had college education funds, so that they could achieve their goals without having to take out huge loans.  I have long been a volunteer at a local food bank, they too would benefit from my win.   I would make sure that the pantry never ran short of food and would never have to turn away a hungry person ever again.

My grandparents had 10 children, and for as long as I can remember we always had Sunday dinner at their house.  They have long been deceased but the tradition that they began still thrives in our family.  Every Sunday, we still get together for dinner.  It is a tradition that I am proud of and one that I have worked hard to maintain.  Everyone is so busy now days, but my children understand how important these dinners are to me.  My husband and I have been married for 36 years and have raised 5 wonderful children.  In my grandmother’s day, she cooked all of the food, but now we have everyone bring a dish.  We still l have a children’s table for the little ones and it is a rite of passage when one graduates to the adult table.  We get together not just for the food but for the fellowship.  We have had so many memories of good times around our big dining room table. There have been Sundays filled with laughter, joys, and even a few tears.  I hope that my children will continue this tradition long after my husband and I are gone.

My husband and I have been married for 36 years.  We were only 18 years old and straight out of high school when we eloped.  Money was tight, so we went to the North Carolina Mountains for 2 days.  We stayed in a hotel in Hendersonville.  Looking back I’m sure that it was a rundown old place, because we wouldn’t have been able to afford anything else.  But, I don’t remember it being that way at all.  When I look at the old pictures of my honeymoon, I see the joy on our faces and it makes me recall the excitement that I felt as a new bride.  We were so young and so very much in love.  The years have swiftly gone by. We have laughed and cried together.  We’ve raised a family and are now alone together once more.  I will never forget those two days so very long ago that marked the beginning of our journey through life.
