Mexican Dreams

Posted on Friday, February 25th, 2011 at 12:20 am

I would really like to visit Mexico with my husband and my dogs, do they count? I really don’t have anyone else I would like to go with. My husband is Mexican and a lot of his family still lives there. i would like to meet some of them as well as be able to explore the surroundings. I also want to visit Tenochtitlan, even though it is no longer the Aztec wonder it was prior to the Spaniards arrival, it is still one of the oldest cities and they were the first to have indoor plumbing. I also want to see the remnants of the pyramids and the temples left behind.

This past holiday season was, I’m not even sure the best words to describe it. I had everyone from coworkers to my sisters in-laws wanting me to bake for them. I made so many cookies and cake balls and peanut butter balls that I really don’t want to see another until next season. I truly love baking, but when I have to do it, it’s not as enjoyable. I had time constraints on me since I also work a full-time job, I wasn’t sure if I could get it all done the on one of my days off I spent over twelve hours baking. But all in all it was a decent holiday.

The new year holds many mixed feelings for me. August of 2011 is the twenty year anniversary of my father’s passing, I’m not sure much of anything could make this year great. A few good things are coming about though. My brother, whom I haven’t seen in over a year is coming for a visit, as well as a cousin is coming down who I haven’t seen in five years. i am excited for my sister, who is having her first child this coming summer at the age of forty. Lastly my mom and one of my nieces are coming to visit over the summer as well.

2010 had many ups and downs for my family. The first half of the year was great. My husband and I were both working and making decent money, by the end of the year my husband had lost his job and we were struggling to make ends meet. I also lost a very dear Uncle in the middle of the year. The best part of the year was when my cousin got married in Las Vegas. I went out there for the wedding and we had a great time. The wedding was beautiful and Las Vegas was amazing especially since it was my first visit.
