The last time I remember sitting down for dinner was when I went out to eat on Sunday. My grandparents and aunt came over to see my sister’s new baby and after a brief visit we went to Wendy’s. I didn’t want to get very much because I am trying to diet, but I saw the fresh-cut fries with sea salt (or whatever they’re called) and wanted them. They did not dissappoint. There is something about sea salt that is twice as good as normal salt. It makes everything taste better. And the fries were excellent–long, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, with skin on the ends. I also got a small frosty, and I’m glad I didn’t get medium. Restaurants, especially fast-food restaurants, tend to supersize things.

Feeling of Christmas

Posted on Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 at 8:34 am

My favorite holiday has to be, without a doubt, Christmas. There is no comparison. Perhaps someone else who has a different favorite holiday has their reasons, but there is, in my mind, nothing like Christmas. First of all, when I think of Christmas, there is a whole feeling that is associated with it. Christmas starts earlier than other holidays, and in our family, “Christmas season” officially starts with decorating the Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. After this, the Christmas tree sits in the living room, the lights sending out a soothing glow into the night. Slowly, gradually, the presents start piling up beneath it. The feeling includes a lot more than this–it envelopes everyone in the community, and spreads out over the whole world. Most of all, Christmas is about family.

Good Day

Today after I woke up and padded up the stairs I dumped some frozen concentrated grapefruit juice into a clear pitcher and then poured in three can-fulls of water, then stirred until the icy juice dissolved, making it a golden-yellow color. Then for breakfast I slid some two-day-old macaroni that had been sitting in the refrigerator into a bowl and mixed it up with some low-cost alfredo, and shook some oregano onto it. Then I sat in the comfy chair in the dining room, the sun streaming in through the window, and read the 2010 Writer’s Market while making notes on the magazines that I would like to write for. Then, later, I brought my laptop computer upstairs and looked online for the Web Design class that I am starting today.

I would like to write about my mother for the final question because she is amazing. my mother has done so much for me in my life it’s incredible. i love her because she loves me no matter what i go through or what i do. she’s treated me like a good son and given me so much to be thankful for. she inspires me to become a better person and every day i do because of her guiding words. i try to always meet her expectations and it gives me goals and things to strive for or achieve. she influences me in the best ways.
